Hello,
Just thought I would email you to let you know we are back from our wonderful holiday in Italy & Croatia and I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for arranging our accommodation in Certaldo & Positano of which was fantastic.
Elio and his wife were a delight, picking up and taking us back from the train station and he couldn't do enough for us. He took us to a vineyard which was great (of which we bought several bottles of Red) and he also organised a friend to take us to San Gimignano, this village was so interesting. Certaldo Alto and the apartment were beautiful.
After leaving there we made our way to Positano by train & bus, Lucia & Lilly were there to greet us off the bus and wow what a sight awaited us. This apartment also was superb, a fantastic view over the bay of which we had 6 delightful nights. Lilly even bought us some eggs from her chooks (how nice was that).
We have no hesitation in recommending your Company Travel & More to anyone who is looking for fantastic places to stay on their holiday. The service you gave us and even the directions on how to get to our destinations was great. We have given our Travel agent your name as he had no contacts in Italy only Croatia .
Thanks again and hope we can use your Company again one day.
Jan & Ross McGovern
PS, The only small criticism we have of Certaldo was that there was no toaster or washing facilities but we managed.

Hello,
We recently returned from our visit to France and can say we had a great time in Provence . The property we stayed at Simiane la Rotonde was simply outstanding. The location of the place was great and Mme Winkler the owner went out of her way to make us welcome. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone, great value.
Thanks again for your help in this booking

France Carlucet in Dordogne and Arles in Provence

December 29, 2007 January 8, 2008
Hello everybody!
We are back from our holidays and we have had a wonderful time.
Thanks again for organising our accommodation. We stayed at some wonderful places that we would enjoy to visit or recommend.
1. The little cottage in Carlucet was one of the best places we stayed at. We had Eric personally greeting us. He gave us maps and plenty of useful advice. He also left us a well stocked kitchen with plenty of goodies to make our stay very enjoyable. After a train trip / pick up hire car and negotiate motorway we were pretty tired and the recommendation of the pub 'The Black Duck' 5 min walk was ideal so much so we went the next night.
2. Thank you for recommending staying in Arles. The hotel was great and an interesting place to stay in. We found the town very interesting so much we will come back for a longer stay one day to explore it better. We had a lovely French meal walking distance from hotel. I am glad I took a walk to search out a place and book.
3. We had a long trip thru heavy snow from Nice to Milan and then to Bellagio. We phoned the owners when we arrived in Bellagio and they came to find us. We had to leave the car and take many steps to our apartment due to snow! We understood that the snow had limited our access
I think Bellagio could be a very interesting place to stay but our two days were wet, the only time we had wet weather on our trip.
4. The Bed and Breakfast in Siena was nice, clean and warm. We did miss a warm welcome though.
5. Hilton Hotel was and excellent place to stay and finish off our travels close to airport. Thank you so much for this brilliant idea of yours to stay last night before we fly out.
Finally we had a great time and will definitely travel and do our bookings with you in the future. This trip has taught us a lot where to stay and the type of accommodation we may need.
Regards,
Christina Lyons

Dear all,
I wanted to let you know that our trip was great success.
· The accommodation in Umbria was fantastic. We loved the castle and the owner showed us around the buildings and told us about local spots to visit.
· The meal on Christmas day at Assisi was probably the best meal we have ever had in our lives-the food, wine, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. Thanks for recommending the restaurant and booking it on our behalf!
· We also liked the bed and breakfast in Lucca - my only comment would be that it would have been nice to able to make a cup tea or coffee where we were staying and there were no facilities to do so.
Thanks for all your help

Dear all,
We loved our accommodation in Certaldo. It was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The rooftop terrace was an additional bonus. The location suited us perfectly as we were travelling only on public transport; we did not have a car. We could easily walk down the hill to the main town for supermarkets, banks, etc and we were able to make 2 day trips to San Gimignano and Siena from the train station. Despite being so conveniently located to all services, staying the Old Town meant we still felt we were "getting away from it all". It was a quiet location and felt quite private.
If I were to point out any negatives, they are quite minor. I don't think the kitchen/meals area floor had been washed properly - there were a few dirty spots. We lost water supply several times on the last couple of days we were there. The first time I rang the owner and the problem was attended to promptly. For subsequent times, we worked out the problem ourselves and were able to get the supply running again. This may be a maintenance issue for the owners to look at.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and I would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone (I already have!).
Regards,
Heather Dempsey.

Dear all,
We had a great time in Italy , thank you.
The accommodation at Summonti was excellent. It is a very old restored house on 3 levels up in the hills behind Camaoire. It was quite different from anything we had stayed in before and retained its authentic heritage. The house was very well presented and the owner was exceptionally helpful.
The location was quite remote although only 3 kilometres from the village. The view from the house was spectacular over the valley through to the sea.
I would thoroughly recommend the accommodation as a good base for exploring the Pisa-Lucca area as well as the Cinque Terre, Portofino, and more.
Thank you for recommending this lovely property.

Hello!
We had a great holiday in Sicily. The house in Balastrate was very good. It had lots of room and was in a semi rural setting which we enjoyed. Whilst the people were very friendly the town of Balestrate does not have a lot going for it but it is the perfect base to explore North West Sicily (Palermo , Trapani , Erice and more). We loved the village of Scopello. It is really lovely and so picturesque and we would love to rent a house there next time even if we have to spend more!

My mother and I thank you very much for recommending the apartment in Verona . There is SO MUCH to see in Verona and it's so lovely and central to other day trips. The apartment is about 20 steps away from Verona 's famed Arena, down the quaint Vicolo Tre Marchetti, and is an absolute gem. Every time we came "home," we literally felt like it was OUR apartment, OUR home. It was so nice walking into a residence, rather than a hotel.
The apartment was comfortably furnished, with two bedrooms, wood-beamed ceilings, a nice living/dining area, and small kitchen. Nothing is overtly luxurious, but the apartment was tastefully decorated and just perfect. The apartment has two lovely balconies that overlook Via Mazzini, the main shopping drag in Verona. Our enduring memory of the apartment is sitting on the small balcony in the early evening watching the world go by. The position, right in the centre of Verona, could not be better.
The fridge was well stocked with enough yogurt, milk, eggs, and juice for the two of us, along with a nice breakfast spread of cereals, jams, and breads set up for us on the dining room table.
The apartment is up about three flights of stairs. Massimo and Camilla (the owners) live in the apartment above. They were the souls of warmth and helpfulness and gave us tons of suggestions and info rmation especially about great places for eating and drinking. They even helped to get us to the airport when most of the city was shut down for the Verona Marathon the morning we left the city. I would stay with them again in a heartbeat. Their apartment is truly a hidden gem in the romantic city of Verona.
Susan.

San Gimignano , Zafferano 3, ITV428 + 2 nights in Florence
July 26 August 4, 2007
We had a wonderful time in Italy, the accommodation in San Gimignano was absolutely perfect for us. Just the right amount of "atmosphere" coupled with modern conveniences! We loved having a little patio to sit on and look over the countryside. Had most of our meals there with copious amounts of Chianti. There were no issues with money/bond and arrival departure times, the lady organising it was very welcoming and helpful. So thank you! Transport was easy everywhere by bus/train and we managed to see all we had hoped to. The "Madam Butterfuly" opera on the last night at the top of San. G. was superb and a wonderful finishing touch to Tuscany.
The hotel where we stayed in Florence was also a lovely place to stay, small and boutique more French than Italian. Price great, breakfast fantastic and they drew maps for us and recommended places to eat (where the locals go).
So all in all a good time.
Definitely be back in contact again soon as France is on my next hit list!
Cheers,
Pam.

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that we are back from our trip and had a wonderful time. All of the accommodation was good and in good locations. The people we had to deal with were also very good and helpful.
The Paris apartment was spacious and well maintained. It was very centrally located with a supermarket and metro station within easy walking distance.
Venice B&B was good and also very central. The breakfast which was included was of a good standard.
Florence B&B was very spacious and well maintained. The people were very good to deal with. Breakfast was brought into the room at a time to suit you and was very good. It was central to most things.
Monteriggioni was a lovely place to stay. Very quiet and lovely grounds. Breakfast was good. And the apartment was quite spacious.
Rome apartment was huge, nice and well maintained.
Thanks once again for your efforts with arranging accommodation.

Dear all,
We have been meaning to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip in Italy .
We did not encounter any problems with either accommodation or the car hire (brand new Volvo station wagon with 20 kms on the clock).
Migliano was very picturesque. Whilst no one spoke English the villagers were very welcoming and friendly. In fact one lady gave a bowl of cherries while we were waiting for Maria (the owner). The accommodation was well presented and comfortable. The only problem we encountered was trying to find a supermarket open on a Sunday. We were not aware the supermarkets did not generally open on Sundays. Our thoughts are that it may be a good idea to have some basic supplies at the house so that when you arrive late and tired and although Maria tried to help us we didn't have much luck in finding any shop open. Migliano is in a great area as it is close to Lucca , Pisa , Siena , Florence and Cinque Terre.
In Sorrento we were pleasantly surprised to discover how close the apartment was to the main square, the train station, buses and ferry. Connie was very helpful with advice to what to see, how to get there and how much it would cost.
We have recommended to some friends that are considering going to Italy shortly to contact you regarding accommodation in Italy and France .
Regards,
Julie and John Welsby.

Just a short note to give you some feedback on our villa in Tuscany . We stayed at Zafferano 1 and it was fabulous. Dear all,
Belated thanks for a wonderful month in Italy . The accommodation, travel arrangements, culture etc all met or exceeded our expectations. The Christmas decorations and food made a winter visit to Italy especially memorable. Thank you.
Bellagio: 6 nights. The winding road from Como was memorable as an introduction to Italian roads and drivers! Bellagio was magic. The apartment is small but perfectly located on a cobbled street. It was a delight to open the windows and shutters in the morning and look out over the rooftops to Lake Como and the mountains beyond. Adriana is a wonderful host and we managed to communicate despite my dodgy Italian. Christmas lunch at Silvio saw us sitting at a window table with a chocolate box view of Lake Como . Thanks for booking it for us! We sampled many courses win the company of locals and their extended families. The open fire at reception with the family dogs curled up in front of it completed the scene! We were welcomed by the locals and by the end of our stay were confidently taking car ferries all over the lake. We also managed a really memorable day trip to San Moritz. Most of the gardens and villas were closed over winter which was disappointing.
Venice : 3 nights. Thank you for recommending a fantastic genuinely authentic Venetian hotel located not far from the Academia Bridge . Arriving at the hotel jetty by water taxi set the scene for a memorable stay. Breakfasts were included and there was a broad range of choice with both hot and cold food. Staff was helpful making reservations at nearby restaurants and helping book concerts. We had a very sumptuous never-ending banquet on New Years Eve at a restaurant recommended by the hotel and came back to find gifts of Grappa and chocolates waiting in our rooms. Buon Anno! The gondola ride was wonderful bundled up in blankets and able to glide under churches that are only accessible at low tide. Even the Murano glass arrived safely following our return to Sydney .
Veneto : 4 nights, in San Zenone (near Asolo and Bassano la Grappa). This was a beautiful and very comfortably, recently restored farmhouse. The apartment was large and well heated with a wood fire in the kitchen. We ate at home a lot choosing to sample the local food. Our hostess made a special trip from Padua to welcome us and suggest villas and places to visit. We kept the washing machine busy. You would need a car to stay here but it is easily accessible to many places and we wish we had had more time to explore this lovely area. The traffic was fine for this time of year but can be a problem at peak times.
Siena : 3 nights in a farm stay. We stopped on the way at Ferrari Galleria, near Modena , for the Y chromosomes family members who overdosed on a huge display of racy cars through the years. Next stop was at our agriturismo by Siena where we met up with our NZ friends and their 2 teenagers. The landlords were wonderful hosts and we ate the best meals (and drank the best wine) we had tasted in Italy . Nadia even made our daughter a special Senese birthday cake for her 15 th birthday. The accommodation was comfortable and every room had its own bathroom. The dependence was an added bonus as a retreat for teenagers who spent many hours playing cards around the fireplace. The farm stay is very close to Siena and has beautiful views of olive groves and vineyards from its window. The food is all locally grown and organic.
Rome : 8 nights. The apartment was located near Barberini Square and Trevi fountain, a great location within easy walking distance of many attractions and shops. The apartment was very comfortable with a lift and good security but noisy, as is to be expected when staying in the middle of Rome . A special bonus was an alimentari directly opposite with welcoming smells from the coffee machine. The apartment was well heated and a handy washing machine again! We happened to have a problem with the door lock but it was quickly sorted by the caretaker who also helped providing local info rmation like where the nearest DVD store was located!
We really appreciated the comfortable and professional transfer to the airport from right outside our apartment! Thank you!
Overall a fantastic experience and made so much easier to organise with your experience and recommendations. There is no doubt I would have spent hours on the internet trying to find the perfect accommodation. It was so much more enjoyable to work through the choices you came up with having first eliminated everything that was not suitable. The rental car bookings went through without a hitch and the navigator was a life and time saver (except when it lost signal). We even got upgraded to a people mover when we went to collect our car at Venice airport. Though we did get stung with an extra days rental in Florence after getting lost in the Tuscan countryside taking the scenic route!
The only drawback to travel in winter is that less tourist info rmation places, villas and gardens are open. But there are definitely no long waits for museums and galleries and the winter sales are well worth the trip. We are looking forward to booking our next holiday with Travel and more and have no hesitation in recommending you to friends and colleagues.
Grazie mille.

Dear Travel and More,
Our trip to Italy was wonderful. We found the apartment in Florence extremely pleasant. It had lots of character but was also spacious, comfortable and very well located. The bedroom and en suite was very comfortable and there was plenty of cupboard space for clothing and suitcases. While there was a washing machine in the kitchen, the absence of an iron and ironing board was a significant oversight. The kitchen was functional, clean and pleasantly light filled by windows on two sides, which made eating there a nice experience. The living room, dominated by the TV had a reasonably comfortable couch but lacked sufficient light for reading. Our criticisms are minor and may relate more to our 40-50 age group and the desire to read and wear clothes that are ironed. On the whole this is an excellent apartment, run by kind and considerate people and we would definitely return.
Regards,
Elizabeth

Hi guys,
Thanks very much for organising the accommodation on our behalf. Directions were very easy, did not make one wrong turn. The place we stayed on the Amalfi coast in charming Sant'Agata sui due Golfi was extremely comfy and had great views. My only concern was driving the last 3k's as it was a very windy road and the drivers were quite erratic. However, we left the car at our accommodation and used public transport which was nearby, overall a great budget priced place which was great as a base to view sites such as Pompei and Mt Vesevius. The accommodation we had in Maremma was brilliant. Mind you it does help if you can speak a bit of Italian as the owners speak no English.
Yours Sincerely Damian and Michelle Forster

Dear Travel and More,
I'd love to jot a few words down on our trip to Paris, Rome, Venice & Bellagio last October 2006.
Your consultants were both extremely patient and listened to all our considerations during the preparatory stages of planning our trip. Travelling with two kids can be a nightmare! Not so, with all our pre planned & organised travel itinerary and car hire put together by the boys and girlas at Travel and More.
The Paris apartment was in the famous Marais district a couple of blocks away from the Picasso Museum . Again so close to bus and metro stops to travel around Paris without any problems. The apartment was sooo French!! Artistic in its decor and cute in it's set up.
The Roman apartment (near Piazza Fiume) was lovely. Clean with all the amenities of a home. It was centrally located so getting around Rome was so easy just a short walk away from bus stops & the metro, food shopping & restaurants.
Venice was also great. Far enough away from the huge crowds of Piazza San Marco but also close enough to all the central spots of interest and the vaporetto stops to the islands of Venice .
Bellagio was fantastic. The apartment was right in the middle of town sooo central. It was clean & cosy with a beautiful view of Lake Como & the Alps from our bedroom window. It was terrific we enjoyed every aspect of our trip!!!
I would highly recommend Travel and more for any future travel arrangements.
Yours Tina & Rick Polito

Hello,
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Paris and hope to return there again some day.
We were thrilled with the apartment. It was clean and tidy and very centrally located. The gentleman who met us on our arrival was prompt, helpful and charming.
The apartment was close to local shops and food markets. We were able to stroll to many restaurants in the area at night offering a variety of cuisines. It was also very beautiful to walk to Notre Dame in the evening.
We found the area was also very safe and the locals friendly.

Dear all ,
Thank you for your work planning our accommodation last year.
Despite being a little unsure of using a service not based in Western Australia, we were very pleased with the range of properties you sent us, the range of prices and the flexibility it gave us to travel around Italy. We found even the cheaper accommodation of a high standard of presentation and quality and all hosts without exception greeted us warmly and addressed any concerns we had. Even the last minute hotel accommodation in Matera was above the normal standard or design for hotels.
We were however a little affronted by our hosts in Sorrento as on departure they were accusing us of not having left all the linen, (I think for one moment they could not find a sheet from the bed, but found it about one half hour later). Being a family of 6 from 80 years to 4 years we would not I think have looked like suspicious guests!!!!
They did however allow my elderly father in law access to the house lift which was not only most useful, but very necessary with such large stairs. A beautiful property and location which could not be better.
We will again be going to Italy or the south of France next year so we will again be in contact.
Best regards,
Greg Kaeding.

Subject: Holiday now over.
Hi - Just a note regarding our holiday accommodation which you arranged for us in Rome and Venice . Sorry we didn't pick up on you trying to communicate with us prior to our arrival in Venice .
Both sets of accommodation were terrific.
In Rome the housekeeper even cooked a meal for all of us two nites. It was her suggestion and was gratefully received and the meal was more than ample. She also obliged us for washing and ironing our clothes. All of which we paid extra for and the price was discussed and agreed to. The place was delightful and very central to everything. Certainly better than staying in a hotel.
Venice was even nicer accommodation. A little hard to initially find but once again not badly situated. It was very handy having a washing machine/drier in the place cos it saved taking home a load of washing.
All in all thank you for your help in locating these accommodations. We will certainly pass on your name for others to use and in the future there may be the opportunity to deal with you again ourselves, although it may take a year or two to save for it. If you need a recommendation from us for your site we are more than happy to oblige.
Once again thank you. It made our holiday a little more special with your help.

Hi,
We are home at last. We had a great holiday, but it was a bit too long. We were well and truly ready to come home at the end of the eight weeks. I thought I would just drop you a line to let you know our impressions of the accommodation we booked through you.
The B & B by Como was wonderful. The location was great with wonderful views to Lake Como and the Swiss Alps in the distance. The host, Roberto, was very good and made us very welcome. He picked us up from the train station and his son, Jacopo, dropped us off when we left. The guest house was lovely and comfortable and the breakfasts delicious and very generous. They had a very lovely housekeeper who was very obliging and helpful. It was easy to catch the local bus down to the main town. We all loved it.
The apartment in Positano was wonderful also. Signor Avitabile has made sure that the Villa is very tastefully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings and with everything that you would need during our stay. The location was great but could be noisy at times during the weekend due to the very central location and the walkways either side. Perhaps it was noisier due to the revelry of people celebrating during the World Cup. This did not spoil our stay anyway and we would definitely stay there again.
Finally thank you very much for recommending the very lovely B & B in Taormina. The location was halfway between Taormina and Castelmola. There were many steps to the main part of town, which weren't too bad going down but quite an effort coming back up. However there is a bus service and we used that most of the time. The hostess was lovely and very helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable with a nice continental breakfast. The rooms are air-conditioned and have large balconies with wonderful views of Mount Etna and Giardini Naxos. We would definitely recommend it.
Thank you for all of your assistance with our planning.
Regards, Karen.
Anne Lainchbury and friends 14 adults from Australia & Europe Two villas in Tuscany & an apartment in Corniglia (Cinque Terre)

In 2005 I started planning a trip to Italy and fortunately came across Travel and More - initially to try and learn a bit of Italian. The individualised classes were fun and flexible and I would definitely recommend the small group or individual sessions for people who don't enjoy large community classes. From this I found that Travel and More operates an accommodation booking service - I wish I had realised this earlier - it would have saved me a lot of frustrating searches for the right villas! Once I knew how many people were going to join me (lots!) Travel and More found 2 superb villas for us that suited our needs perfectly. The first one in Southern Tuscany - in a small village near Cortona was in the most beautiful rural setting, and the second one, further north and close to Certaldo - near San Gimignano, was amazing with its 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Both had stunning views and beautiful swimming pools. At both villas we enlisted the services of the local mamas to cook in house for us a couple of times-
this should not be missed! They also found me a perfect apartment in Corniglia in the Cinque Terra which was exactly what I asked for - on a hilltop, with a balcony over -looking the ocean.
I cannot thank you all enough for your help and attention to detail in making last years holiday definitely the trip of a lifetime.
Debbi Weiss' family 2 adults & 2 children Bellevue Hill (Sydney) - NSW Rome, apartment Sistina IRO411

Hi,
We got home 2 nights ago, and are still recovering from the jetlag.... Sorry I haven't been in touch. It was difficult from Rome as there was no internet in the apartment, then we went on to Israel where we were too busy with family events to have time to go online, and then to Bangkok where the shopping was so good, that I couldn't be bothered to find an internet cafe!
Anyway, the apartment in Rome was brilliantly situated right in the heart of everything. A wonderful, safe, and vibrant street. Thanks for the recommendation. Mrs Violetta, the housekeeper helped us out with our washing and cooked 2 dinners for us! She also organised a friend of hers to take us to the airport upon departure - which was fantastic, considering all our luggage!
Debbi.
